I wanted to end the week by emulating some of my favorite bloggers and sharing the spotlight on some of my favorite posts recently. If you don’t read these blogs, I suggest that you subscribe to their feeds and if you are coming across my blog for the first time, thanks for reading and I also encourage you to subscribe to my feed. Everyone stay cool this weekend and have fun!
Financial Jungle, my source on the Vancouver real estate market, writes about the benefits of renting vs. owning. It a great piece on the pro’s of renting in a hot real estate market such as Vancouver (lower household income than Toronto with higher average house prices).
The Simple Dollar gives a great summary on how he pays his bills efficiently and without using cheques. It is a great strategy to systemize paperwork.
Get Rich Slowly takes on the self-improvement industry through his analysis of the motivational movement called The Secret (with part of the movie attached). If you have not heard of The Secret, it is a motivational theory on reaching your goals and is often used in personal finance situations.
Million Dollar Journey and Canadian Mortgage Trends have an extremely thorough analysis of how to leverage the equity in your home and the mortgage options available if you wish to pursue this option (Canadian Mortgage Trends is an extremely informative blog; I hope she gets some traction out of her article with Million Dollar Journey).
Investoid outlines some great rules if you wish to engage in trading. This should be printed out and posted above every computer screen of traders.

Thanks for the mention, Thicken. I’m surprised to have received so many comments on this particular post. I guess I have underestimated the number of proud renters out there.
