Life is certainly much easier when someone else has to make all the decisions for us and we can point our fingers at someone else when things go wrong. I see this both in our finances and in our western health care system. A part of me wonders how much of this trend starts in the American tendency to litigate. If you can sue whenever something goes wrong, then you don't need to take responsibility for your own actions. I refer to this as “outsourcing our responsibility”.
